Corona, NY – A lottery ticket sold at a busy Queens storefront turned into a five-figure payout after matching all numbers in the evening TAKE 5 drawing, marking one of several winning tickets across New York on the same night.
The New York Lottery announced that a top-prize ticket worth $10,705 was sold at Junction Smoke Inc, located at 40-22 Junction Boulevard in Corona, for the May 4 evening drawing.
TAKE 5 drawings select numbers from a pool of one through 39 and are held twice daily, once in the afternoon and again in the evening. The Corona ticket matched all five numbers drawn, securing the top prize for that drawing cycle.
Winners of TAKE 5 prizes have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings. Lottery officials have not released information about the ticket holder.
The New York Lottery reported that it continues to generate funding for public education, contributing $3.6 billion during the 2024-2025 fiscal year to schools across the state.
