Quiet Sunday afternoon in Northeast Philly turned violent as stabbing sends one to hospital

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — A man was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being stabbed on a residential block in Northeast Philadelphia, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 2:32 p.m. on the 7000 block of Charles Street, according to Philadelphia police. Officers from the 15th District responded to the scene and found a male victim suffering from a stab wound.

Medic 47 transported the victim to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for treatment. Police have not released the victim’s identity or condition as of Sunday evening.

The area was secured by officers, and the scene is being held for further investigation. No arrests have been announced, and police have not released information about a possible suspect or motive.

Ongoing investigation

The Northeast Detectives Division is leading the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
