TRENTON, NJ — A Union County resident turned a dream into reality after winning a $1.5 million Jersey Cash 5 jackpot with a ticket purchased at the EZ Check Food Store in Rahway.
The winning ticket, drawn on February 26, was the 11th Jersey Cash 5 jackpot of the year and the third to surpass $1 million. The numbers—14, 20, 29, 30, and 45—were randomly selected through a quick pick.
This year’s pace of jackpot winners matches 2024, when there were 75 total winners, including 13 who claimed prizes over $1 million.
The New Jersey Lottery has contributed nearly $33.7 billion to the state since its inception in 1970, with profits supporting the public employee pension system under a 30-year agreement signed in 2017.
