Rainbow Hill at Sourland Mountain Preserve Added to Open Space Roster

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The New Jersey Conservation Foundation has opened Rainbow Hill at Sourland Mountain Preserve, a 1,150-acre expanse bridging Hunterdon and Somerset Counties, announced Somerset County officials. The preserve marks a significant addition to New Jersey’s protected natural areas.

Rainbow Hill offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, horseback riding, and bird watching. The site adds to the ecological and recreational richness of the region.

Somerset County Commissioner Melonie Marano expressed enthusiasm for the opening, celebrating the county’s ongoing collaboration with NJ Conservation. The partnership has resulted in over 450 acres of conserved open space and historic sites, including the True Farmstead. Commissioner Marano anticipates continued joint efforts to preserve the county’s natural landscapes.
