Raleigh Man Hospitalized Following Shooting in Abandoned House

RALEIGH, NC – A man is receiving hospital treatment after being shot in the face on Tuesday evening, as per Raleigh Police Department reports.

Officers responded to the incident around 6:45 p.m. near Old Wake Forest Road, between Sumner Boulevard and Ruritania Street.

Captain J.R. Manson detailed that the victim, found pushing a bicycle, directed officers to the actual crime scene – an abandoned house on Old Wake Forest Road. The victim and the alleged shooter were reportedly staying together in the house.

Wake County deputies arrested 31-year-old Marco Antonio Ramirez-Gonzalez on Wednesday in connection with the shooting.

Ramirez-Gonzalez faces charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and is held at the Wake County Detention Center without bond. Officers also discovered blood and shell casings at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
