Rampant Check Fraud in Cambridge Under Investigation

CAMBRIDGE, MD – The Cambridge Police Department is currently investigating a rash of check fraud incidents reported over the past months. Victims have reported checks intended for bill payments being stolen, altered, and redirected to other individuals.

These fraudulent activities have predominantly occurred after victims placed their checks in United States Post Office Mailboxes around the city. Notably, incidents have been largely reported from the following locations:

-Locust St off High St

-Cambridge Market Place

-Peachblossom Ave off Washington St

The Cambridge Police Department continues to investigate these incidents in collaboration with the United States Postal Inspectors.
