BALTIMORE, MD — A Randallstown woman has a little extra cash to pack for her upcoming cruise after scoring a $50,000 top prize in the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 game.

The winner, a Baltimore County resident who works from home as an administrative assistant, purchased the ticket on Saturday, July 12, at Wheaton Services, located at 225 N Eutaw Street in Baltimore. She bought a $4 ticket with three combinations, covering two drawings — July 12 and 13.

It wasn’t until a few days later that she realized her ticket matched all five numbers. She scanned her ticket using the Maryland Lottery mobile app and discovered the $50,000 win.

She claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters on Monday and said she plans to use the winnings during a previously scheduled cruise and to share a portion with her daughter.

In a rare twist, the same retail location sold six other $50,000-winning Bonus Match 5 tickets on the same day. Lottery officials are still awaiting those ticket holders to come forward.

Wheaton Services will receive a $500 bonus for each winning ticket sold, totaling at least $3,500 in retailer bonuses.
