Recovery of $500K in Stolen Items Leads to Two Arrests in Queens Fencing Operation

Queens, NY—Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced the recovery of over $500,000 in stolen merchandise from major retailers at the McClain Collection Boutique in Ridgewood. Two individuals are facing charges for criminal possession of stolen property.

NYPD Commissioner Edward A. Caban praised the effort to combat organized retail crime, emphasizing the economic impact such operations have on entire communities, including local businesses and consumers.

Two defendants, Juan Nunez and Moranta Anibelka, were arraigned on May 3 on criminal possession of stolen property charges in the second degree. If convicted, they face up to 15 years in prison. Queens Criminal Court Judge Julietta Lozano scheduled their next court appearance for July 3.
