Waterford Township, NJ- The remains of a man missing from Cherry Hill since June 7th were found in a remote section of Wharton State Forest on Wednesday. Those remains were identified as Peter Myers by police today.
After going missing in June, Myers’ vehicle was found empty on a dirt road leading to the Waterford section of Wharton State Forest. Throughout June and July, teams from the Cherry Hill Police Department in the New Jersey State Park Police scoured the large forest preserve for the missing man but came up empty.
The search for Myers what’s abandoned after investigators found no clues or signs as to his whereabouts.
On Tuesday, a hunter in a remote section of the forest found human skeletal remains and immediately reported his finding to the Waterford Township Police Department.
At this time, it is not known how the 68-year-old man died. Police said forensic examiners and the coroner’s office are working to determine the cause of his death.
