Repeat DUI Offender Arrested After Crashing into Police Cars

Dover, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 55-year-old William Geissel Jr. of Camden, Delaware, for third-offense DUI and other traffic-related charges following a crash involving two police vehicles on Tuesday night. Geissel’s Volkswagen collided with a Dover Police Department Tahoe and a Delaware State Police Tahoe on South Dupont Highway.

Geissel, who showed signs of impairment, was subjected to sobriety tests, leading to his arrest. He had previous DUI convictions. The crash, which took place around 8:45 p.m., caused injuries to the officers involved, resulting in the closure of South Dupont Highway for approximately three hours.
