FORKED RIVER, NJ – A young dog named Dorothy, recently rescued from a puppy mill, is now available for adoption at the NJ Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter.

Dorothy, approximately 1.5 years old, has had a difficult past, characterized by fear and under-socialization due to her early experiences.

Dorothy’s recovery is progressing, as she learns to trust and enjoy her new environment. She has started to adapt to walking on a leash and exploring the outdoors. Her first spa day was a success, indicating her potential to embrace a happier life.

This special canine is searching for a home with another friendly and confident dog from which she can learn. Her ideal environment will include cats as well, as she shows no issues with other animals.

The shelter emphasizes that Dorothy requires an experienced and loving family that can provide the stability and care she needs.
