Restaurant Owner Shoots Teen Who Tried to Steal Tip Jar, Arrested

STOWE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit has arrested an individual in connection with a shooting at the Hook Fish and Chicken restaurant on Broadway Avenue in Stowe Township.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:00 pm on November 18. Surveillance footage revealed a 15-year-old male entering the restaurant and attempting to steal a tip jar.

In response, the restaurant owner, 39-year-old Mohammed Hamdan, fired three shots at the teenager, causing multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing, as there was no evidence suggesting the teenager was armed or posed a threat at the time of the incident.
