BOWIE, MD – A trio of retail employees from Prince George’s County, dubbed the “Big-time Lottery Crew,” celebrated a $50,000 third-tier Powerball prize from the drawing held on April 6, 2024. The win came as the Powerball jackpot surged past the $1 billion mark, prompting the group to pool their funds and purchase several tickets.

The co-workers, who began their lottery pool about a year ago, regularly purchase their tickets at the 7-Eleven located at 3570 Crain Highway in Bowie. Apart from the group plays, they also individually engage in other lottery games including scratch-offs, Pick 4, and Mega Millions.

The discovery of their win was initially met with disbelief, as the co-workers thought it was a prank until they saw the ticket themselves. The celebration that followed saw the winners discussing their plans for the prize money. One plans to use her share for a vacation with her husband, another intends to pay for her daughters’ tuition, and the third aims to save the money for future needs.
