Richmond Police Arrest Two for Reckless New Year’s Eve Shooting

RICHMOND, VA – The Richmond Police Department has taken decisive action against two individuals involved in reckless firearm discharge on New Year’s Eve. The department’s announcement comes after officers were alerted to a video posted online, showing the duo firing weapons into the air in celebration of the holiday.

The First Precinct Focused Mission Team spearheaded the investigation, utilizing the video evidence to identify and locate the suspects. Through diligent investigative work, officers obtained search warrants, which led to the seizure of the firearms involved and the subsequent arrest of the individuals.

The charges levied against the suspects include reckless handling of a firearm and discharging within 1000 feet of a school zone, highlighting the seriousness of their actions. Additionally, one of the individuals faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The suspects were not identified by name.
