Rideshare driver assaulted and robbed in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – On the night of April 4, 2023, at around 11:00 p.m., a 38-year-old male victim was traveling in a ride-share car that stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of 2nd and Chestnut Street. At that moment, a group of juveniles surrounded the vehicle. Two suspects reached into the car and attempted to steal the victim’s phone.

When the ride-share driver pulled away, the suspects struck the victim in the face.

The suspects were later seen on surveillance video on a Septa subway platform. The Central Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspects.
