Ring Doorbell Helps Homeowner Thwart Car Burglary

SEVERNA PARK, MD – A car burglar was caught after a homeowner captured him on a Ring doorbell camera.

According to police, early this morning, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of a suspicious person in the area of Kagee Court and Old Country Road in Severna Park.

“The victim informed police that he was alerted by his Ring camera device, to a subject that was in his driveway and pulling on the door handles of his vehicles. The subject was described as a black male wearing a light-colored jacket, gray camouflage, and blue pants. As officers were arriving in the area they observed the subject in the driveway of a neighboring residence,” police said. “The subject was detained and subsequently positively identified as the suspect that was tampering with the victim’s vehicles. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.”

40-year-old Jonathan Grimes of New Castle, Delaware was arrested.
