ROCHESTER, NY – The Rochester Police Department is conducting an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday night on Smith Street near State Street.
Officers discovered one of the victims, a 25-year-old man, on Walnut Street, not far from the shooting site. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with upper body injuries, which, though severe, are not life-threatening.
A 30-year-old woman, the second victim, arrived at Strong Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle, where she received treatment for a gunshot wound in the lower body. She was also injured on Smith Street.
There are currently no suspects in custody. The investigation remains ongoing, and the Rochester Police Department encourages anyone with information to call 911.
