Routine Traffic Stop in Dorchester Leads to Arrest and Firearm Seizure

DORCHESTER, MA – A recent routine investigation by the District C-11 (Dorchester) Drug Control Unit led to the arrest of Dwayne Sturdivant, 33, on firearm-related charges on Monday.

Sturdivant, a Roxbury resident, was found to be in possession of a loaded .32 caliber Hopkins and Allen revolver during a stop in the area of Dorchester Avenue and Faulkner Street.

Following a brief struggle, Sturdivant was taken into custody and will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm.
