School Bus Involved in Collision in Sharptown

SHARPTOWN, MD—A motor vehicle collision involving a Wicomico County Board of Education school bus occurred at the intersection of Joe Morgan Rd and Sharptown Rd on April 16, 2024, at approximately 8:12 AM. The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with units from Road Patrol and the School Resource Unit.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the school bus did not yield the right of way and was subsequently struck by another vehicle. While the school bus had twenty-five students on board, none of the children sustained injuries. One passenger from the second vehicle involved was transported to Tidal Health with minor injuries and the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Following the collision, all students on the bus were safely transported to their respective schools. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
