Schools Closed After Gunfire Reported, No Laws Broken Police Say

STAFFORD, VA – Deputies discovered the source of recent gunfire reports near Mountain View High School and Margaret Brent Elementary School and confirmed no criminal activity was involved.

Deputies responded to a gunfire complaint in the 2100 block of Mountain View Road, prompting precautionary secure status for the two nearby schools. This measure, taken out of caution, has since been lifted. The safety of students and staff remained the priority throughout the incident.

No issues were reported at either school, with deputies present on both scenes. The situation was closely monitored, and further information will be provided as necessary.
