SECAUCUS, NJ – The Secaucus Police Department announced their participation in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
From this Friday to January 1 of next year, officers will intensify efforts to apprehend impaired drivers through saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints.
This national campaign aims to reduce impaired driving incidents. In 2020, 11,654 fatalities were reported due to drunk driving, with an estimated societal cost of $44 billion annually.
Chief Dennis Miller emphasized the importance of this enforcement program.
Advice for the holiday season includes using mass transit, rideshares, or a sober friend for transportation, reporting impaired drivers, and always using seatbelts.
