Second teen reported shot overnight in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A teenage male was injured in a shooting Saturday night near Chesapeake Square Ring Road, marking the second shooting involving a juvenile in the city within hours, according to the Chesapeake Police Department.

Officers were called to the 2500 block of Taylor Road around 9:13 p.m., where they found the victim at a nearby residence. Authorities said the teen had been shot in the 2400 block of Chesapeake Square Ring Road before seeking help.

The teen was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Investigators have not released details about what led to the shooting or potential suspects.

This shooting occurred just over an hour after another teenage male was injured in a separate incident in the 4100 block of Schooner Trail, raising concerns among residents. Police have not indicated whether the two incidents are related.

The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Chesapeake Crime Line.
