NEWARK, NJ – A shooting that occurred early on Monday in Newark has resulted in one person suffering serious injuries.
The event took place near the intersection of South 9th Street and 11th Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, responding officers found the victim bearing gunshot wounds. An immediate call for emergency medical services was made to rush to the scene. The victim was subsequently transported to University Hospital for treatment.
In the aftermath of the incident, police scoured the lower West Ward neighborhood in search of additional victims. However, no other injuries were reported.
As of the time of this report, the suspect remains at large.
