Severe Flooding Alert Issued in Akron

AKRON, OH—The Akron Police Department has issued a severe flooding alert, urging residents to avoid certain areas and seek alternative travel routes. The city is currently grappling with significant flooding issues affecting multiple locations.

Residents are advised to steer clear of the following areas:

  • Merriman Valley area, including Merriman Rd, N. Portage Path, Sand Run Parkway, and Weathervane Lane.
  • W. Market St. near Elmdale Ave.
  • Mull Ave near the roundabout.
  • Vernon Odom Blvd & S Hawkins Ave.
  • Storer Ave.

The police department has deployed its Community Rescue Vehicle to assist citizens in disabled vehicles and manage the situation more efficiently. Residents are encouraged to follow the police department’s updates and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this severe weather event.
