Shooting at Richmond Hospital Leaves One Dead, Shooter in Custody

RICHMOND, VA – A deadly shooting incident unfolded inside the VCU Medical Center North Hospital early Wednesday morning.

A man is dead, and the alleged shooter is in custody following the incident. The incident erupted when a dispute broke out between two men, leading to one man shooting the other.

VCU and Richmond Police received a call about shots fired inside the hospital at around 12:04 a.m., which they quickly responded to.

The hospital was temporarily locked down and no other injuries have been reported.

Police assured that no patients were endangered during the incident, and there was no involvement of patients, according to ABC affiliate WRIC.
