COLUMBUS, OH– A shooting in Columbus’s Hilltop neighborhood resulted in the death of 34-year-old Shawn Overly on Sunday afternoon.
The Columbus Division of Police responded to reports of a shooting near the Wedgewood Village Apartments on the 3700 block of Briggs Road just after 5 p.m.
Overly, who was shot in the stomach, was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and pronounced dead shortly before 8 p.m.
Investigators are still working to determine the events leading up to the shooting.
The Columbus Police Homicide Unit encourages anyone with information to come forward.
