Shooting in Downtown Boston Leaves Two Dead

BOSTON, MA — A distressing event unfolded on Monday, February 26, 2024, when Boston Police officers were called to 240 Tremont Street in Downtown Boston at approximately 12:21 PM for a death investigation. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds, both of whom were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victims were later identified, with 25-year-old Aanya Vinay of Brookline being one of the deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled her death a homicide. Further investigations into this tragic incident have determined that 43-year-old Keith Ashby of Boston was responsible for shooting Aanya Vinay before taking his own life. Ashby’s death has been classified as a suicide.
