Shooting in Hillsborough on Thanksgiving, Suspect Sought

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. – A shooting incident in Hillsborough on Thanksgiving evening resulted in a 33-year-old man from Burlington being hospitalized.

The victim admitted himself to UNC Hospital’s Hillsborough campus around 7 pm, having sustained a gunshot wound to the back.

The Hillsborough Police Department’s preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred in the central part of the town on Spruce Street.

As of 1 am Friday, the victim was reported to be in stable condition.

The police believe this was an isolated incident and have stated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. No arrest has been made yet in this case.
