Shooting in Maplewood Leaves One Injured

MAPLEWOOD, NJ—A 24-year-old male from Irvington, NJ, was found injured from gunshot wounds late Friday night on Jacoby Street near Brown Street. Maplewood Police responded to the scene around 11:30 PM after reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers, alongside South Essex Fire Department EMS, provided immediate aid to the victim, who was then transported to a nearby hospital. He is currently reported to be in stable condition.

The Maplewood Police Detective Bureau is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area as part of ongoing safety measures. The police are requesting anyone with video footage or information about the incident to contact Detective Rodrigues or Detective Isetts at the Maplewood Police Department.
