Shooting in New Cassel Neighborhood Sends Man to Hospital

NEW CASSEL, NY – The Major Case Bureau reports a shooting incident that occurred in New Cassel on Monday.

Nassau County Police Department’s officers responded to the scene at Oliver Street and Elton Street at 12:20 am, where a 21-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to his left leg.

Officers provided immediate medical assistance, applying a tourniquet to the victim’s leg.

He was then transported to a local hospital by a Nassau County Police Department Ambulance and is currently in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Nassau County Crime Stoppers is seeking information related to the incident and asks anyone with details to contact them.
