Shooting Victim in Critical Condition After Being Ambushed Leaving Apartment

PITTSBURGH, PA – A man was shot as he exited his Pittsburgh apartment, the Allegheny County Police Department reported on Thursday.

At around 4:15 pm, officers were dispatched to an apartment building in the 3100 block of Cordell Place for reports of a person shot.

“Arriving units located a male with a gunshot wound to the right leg. The victim told police he was exiting the apartment building when another male began shooting,” the department said. “Officers applied two tourniquets to control the bleeding until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.”

The investigation is ongoing.
