Six Students Arrested at Delaware High School Brawl

NEWARK, Del. — Delaware State Police arrested six students on assault-related charges following a fight at Glasgow High School earlier this month.

The incident occurred on January 15 at approximately 12:50 p.m. when a school resource officer and staff responded to a fight involving multiple students in a hallway at the school, located at 1901 S. College Avenue. Authorities determined that six male students, ranging in age from 16 to 17, engaged in a physical altercation.

During the fight, a 16-year-old from New Castle and a 17-year-old from Newark allegedly kicked a 17-year-old from Bear, who was transported to a hospital and later released. The 17-year-old from Newark also allegedly kicked another 17-year-old from Bear, who was evaluated by the school nurse and released to a guardian.

On January 27, the 16-year-old from New Castle and the 17-year-old from Newark turned themselves in at Troop 2 and were charged with multiple offenses. The other students involved were charged with misdemeanor offenses and released to their guardians.

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the altercation, and the investigation remains ongoing.
