FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Somerset resident was surprised to find an unknown black male trying to break into their home while they were out walking their dog through the neighborhood. The incident took place last week on Holland Drive.
According to police, “An unknown, black male suspect attempted to gain entry to the reporting person’s residence after they returned from walking their dog just prior to midnight on 10/01/22.”
The suspect was unsuccessful and left the area.
Police did not provide any other information regarding the description of the suspect.

A Somerset, resident was the victim of a catalytic converter theft during the morning hours in the area of Walnut Ave. The victim confronted the three black male suspects in the driveway after hearing a loud noise and they fled in a black SUV. The auto part was valued at $800.00.

A Somerset, resident reported a burglary to their unlocked vehicle while it was parked at a local park. The unknown suspect(s) removed a purse containing a phone, multiple credit cards, and a spare house key, from the vehicle. The phone was later recovered in a grassy area after being pinged to the location by the victim.
