South Boston Man Arrested for February Murder

SOUTH BOSTON, MA – On Friday, the Fugitive Unit apprehended Stepheon Wells, a 20-year-old resident of South Boston, in the vicinity of 26 Hemenway Street. Wells was wanted under a straight warrant issued by the Dorchester District Court in connection with a murder and firearm-related charges.

The charges against Wells stem from an incident that occurred on Saturday, February 18. At around 8:46 PM, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 15 Fermoy Heights in Dorchester. Upon arrival, the officers discovered Diva Ayuso, a 32-year-old resident of Sharon, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Ayuso was pronounced dead at the scene. Wells is expected to face arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
