Southern Maryland Man Wins $50,000 on Pick 5 Days After Trying Game for First Time

Pile of money.

A retired maintenance worker from Southern Maryland struck luck with Pick 5, winning $50,000 just five days after trying the game for the first time.

The man, who had been a loyal Pick 3 and Pick 4 player for years, decided to give Pick 5 a shot after being encouraged by a friend. His decision paid off handsomely when his chosen numbers were drawn within the first week of playing.

Overjoyed by his unexpected win, the Anne Arundel County resident shared the exciting news with his wife and plans to use the prize money to pay off bills and possibly invest in home renovations.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lothian Mart, located at 5423 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Anne Arundel County. In recognition of selling the $50,000 winning ticket, the retailer will receive a $500 bonus.
