GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — On Wednesday, a single-vehicle accident occurred on East Jimmie Leeds Road near 4th Avenue, involving a red 2004 Mercedes, the Galloway Township Police Department reported. The driver, identified as Johnathan Cross, 32, from Galloway, was trapped inside the vehicle after it veered off the road and overturned.

According to the police, Cross was driving east on Jimmie Leeds Road at a high speed when he tried to pass another vehicle on a bend, lost control, and crashed into the woods. The vehicle went airborne before landing on its roof.

Rescue teams extricated Cross, who was then airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Division for treatment. A loaded firearm found in the vehicle has led to potential charges, pending investigation results.
