SPRING HILL, FL – A routine traffic stop conducted by Night Watch Lieutenant Mike O’Brien resulted in the arrest of a man and the seizure of illegal narcotics.

The incident occurred on Saturday, just after 3 a.m., near Deltona Boulevard and Cortez Boulevard.

Lt. O’Brien stopped a white Dodge pickup truck driven by Dustin Swanton, who was found to be driving without a license. During the stop, Lt. O’Brien observed a clear plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance, believed to be methamphetamine, on the vehicle’s floorboard.

A subsequent search of the truck revealed additional baggies containing methamphetamine, oxycodone, morphine sulfate, and a substance that tested positive for fentanyl. Also found were digital scales and two Naloxone strips.

Swanton, with a history of driving offenses, was arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offenses, including trafficking in methamphetamine, and possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. His total bond was set at $73,000.
