STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — The Office of Stafford County Sheriff David “DP” Decatur released details of significant incidents from their daily report dated August 7, 2024.
In an arson case reported on August 6 at 8:00 AM, Deputy S.M. Eastman and Fire Marshal D.M. Pappas were called to Paynes Lane, where a house under construction was vandalized.
The site exhibited burn marks and evidence of an unidentified liquid poured on the floor, prompting an investigation into the deliberate damage.
Additionally, a larceny was reported at the CVS on 450 Chatham Heights Road on the same day at 10:53 AM. Deputy D.R. Ludolph responded to the scene where a male suspect was apprehended after stuffing his backpack with medication.
Recognized from previous shoplifting incidents, the suspect was arrested and is now held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond, facing a new warrant for shoplifting.
These incidents underscore ongoing challenges in maintaining public safety and the continuous efforts of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office to address criminal activities within the community.
