STAMFORD, Conn. — The Stamford Fire Department will hold a memorial ceremony on Wednesday to mark the 23rd anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks. The event will take place at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Woodside Fire Station, located at 1620 Washington Boulevard.
To accommodate the ceremony, Washington Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic starting at 6:30 p.m. This closure will allow for additional parking on the street and provide a viewing area for attendees in front of the memorial.
Deputy Chief Philip Hayes announced that the event will be a night of remembrance, offering the community an opportunity to reflect on the tragic events of 9/11 and pay tribute to those who lost their lives.
The Fire Department encourages residents to attend and extend the invitation to their family and friends.
