Standoff Ends with a Man Found Dead in Middlebury Home

MIDDLEBURY, CT – A standoff concluded with a discovery early on Thursday morning.

State police, alongside officers from Middlebury, Naugatuck, and Waterbury police departments, responded to a crisis situation on Porter Avenue.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 5:30 p.m.

A man, whose identity has not been released, had reportedly fired two handgun rounds inside a residence before barricading himself inside.

An adult family member was able to flee the scene and alert the police.
