TRENTON, NEW JERSEY – Senator Doug Steinhardt (R-23) lauds the award of a Local Transportation Project Fund Grant aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety on Roseberry Street in Phillipsburg.

“I met with local officials and Department of Transportation representatives in the Spring to discuss transportation safety and congestion,” said Steinhardt. “I am pleased that Phillipsburg will receive funding to tackle these critical issues. I thank Commissioner Diane Guiterrez-Scaccetti for her partnership in securing this investment.”

Earlier in April, Steinhardt toured the district with local officials and the New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner to identify state-assisted solutions for deteriorating infrastructure and problematic intersections.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation granted $375,000 to Phillipsburg for improvements to pedestrian and traffic safety.

Phillipsburg Councilman Randy Piazza Jr expressed his gratitude for the funding, stating it was “great news for the town of Phillipsburg.”
