BALTIMORE, Md. – Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred early Friday morning in Southeast Baltimore, according to police.
The incident happened at approximately 12:50 a.m. on December 13 in the 2400 block of East Fairmount Avenue. Police say a group of about six males, some armed with guns, approached a 39-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, demanded their car keys, and fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
Shortly after, officers spotted the stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of North Kenwood Avenue at around 2:12 a.m. The suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended after a brief chase. A loaded handgun was recovered at the scene.
Two 14-year-old boys were taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center for processing. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify the other suspects involved in the crime.
