Stolen Honda recovered after foot chase in Jessup Dorsey Park

HANOVER, Md. — A 2022 Honda motorcycle reported stolen out of Montgomery County was recovered Thursday night in Jessup Dorsey Park, where police arrested a suspect following a brief foot pursuit.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. on May 29, officers were conducting a routine check of the park, located at 7486 Ridge Road in Hanover, when they spotted a man sitting on a motorcycle after park hours. As officers approached, the suspect fled on foot.

Following a short pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The motorcycle was later confirmed to be stolen.

The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Charles Vance Hobart Jr. of Temple Hills, Maryland. He was arrested and charged in connection with the recovered stolen vehicle.

Western District continues efforts to deter vehicle theft

Police say the recovery is part of continued enforcement targeting stolen vehicles and unauthorized use of public spaces after hours. The recovered motorcycle was returned to authorities in Montgomery County for further processing.

The investigation remains active and additional charges may be pending based on findings.
