Stormy start gives way to sunny skies in New Jersey weekend forecast

Trenton, NJ – A stormy midweek stretch will soon clear out, setting up a sunny and cooler weekend across New Jersey.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through Wednesday evening, with rainfall amounts of up to half an inch possible. Temperatures will hover near 70 degrees with northeast winds up to 15 mph before easing overnight.

Thursday will bring improving conditions, starting off cloudy with just a slight chance of lingering showers before skies turn mostly sunny by the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 70s, followed by a mostly clear night with lows in the upper 50s.

Friday kicks off a stretch of pleasant fall weather, with sunshine, light winds, and highs in the low 80s. The dry pattern will hold through the weekend as temperatures dip slightly — around 71 degrees Saturday and 72 on Sunday — with mostly sunny skies and cool evenings in the low to mid-50s.

The break from rain will be welcomed across the state after several days of unsettled conditions.
