Deadly fight on I Street leaves DC man dead as homicide probe begins
Washington, DC — A street fight in Southwest D.C. turned fatal Wednesday night, leaving a 29-year-old man dead after suffering a serious injury.
The incident unfolded around 8:52 p.m. in the 400 block of I Street Southwest, where members of the National Guard observed a group of males fighting and alerted police.
Responding officers found an adult male with an injury to his abdomen. DC Fire and EMS transported him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as Keon Jones, 29, of Southwest D.C.
No arrests have been announced as investigators work to determine what led to the fatal encounter.
