NEW YORK, NY – Brooklyn’s 70, 67, and 71 Precincts have reported a series of similar armed robberies involving simulated firearms.
Incident #1 occurred on Thursday evening at Caton Deli & Luncheonette on Caton Avenue, where two men, using a firearm-shaped object concealed in a black plastic bag, stole approximately $900 from the register around 9:50 PM.
Just days later, Incident #2 unfolded on Saturday at Sunrise Grocery on Bedford Avenue. A man employing the same method extracted around $1,200 from the store at about 8:17 PM.
On Tuesday, Incident #3 involved an attempted robbery at a grocery store on Remsen Avenue. The suspect attempted to rob the store using a simulated firearm around 4:30 PM, but fled empty-handed after the clerk resisted.
Finally, Incident #4 on Thursday at K & K Grocery on Utica Avenue saw two males, one acting as a lookout, successfully steal $400 using a simulated firearm around 9:42 PM.
In all incidents, there were no physical injuries reported. The police continue to investigate these robberies, noting the pattern of using a simulated firearm.
