MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of southern New Jersey, warning of strong winds and heavy rain expected Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The advisory, in effect from noon to 6 p.m. EST, covers Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Ocean, and Southeastern Burlington Counties. Forecasters predict south winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. These conditions could cause tree limbs to fall and lead to scattered power outages.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected, with some storms producing heavy rainfall. High temperatures will reach around 61°F, with up to three-quarters of an inch of rain possible. Winds will remain breezy overnight, gradually weakening, as rain tapers off after 1 a.m.
Drivers, especially those with high-profile vehicles, are advised to use caution on the roads as strong winds may make travel difficult.
