Subway Rider Brutally Attacked For Not Holding Gate

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is actively seeking the public’s help to identify two male individuals in connection to an assault.

The incident took place last Saturday, September 30, around 10:00 pm. The 28-year-old male victim was exiting the 62nd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway subway station on the “N” line.

He was confronted by two young men after he declined to open the gate for them. Following a verbal dispute, the men assaulted the victim, causing him head injuries, and then fled the scene.

The first of the unidentified males wore a gray hooded sweater, multi-color shorts, black sneakers, and carried a black book bag.

The second male donned a New York Giants blue and gray hooded sweater, black shorts, white sneakers, and a black hat. Both individuals are believed to be between 17 and 19 years old, with light complexions. Surveillance photos from the scene are available at DCPI.
