Subway slasher arrested by NYPD

NEW YORK – In a significant development related to an ongoing investigation, NYPD detectives have made an arrest and filed charges against a suspect wanted for a subway slashing in Brooklyn.

The suspect has been identified as Zyeuk Person, a 24-year-old male from Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn.

The charges pressed against Person include assault and criminal possession of a weapon.d locating an individual wanted in connection with an assault case. The incident occurred within the boundaries of Transit District 32 and the 71st Precinct.

According to reports, on Sunday, May 28, at approximately 4:15 AM, a 46-year-old male victim was aboard a southbound 5 train approaching the President Street subway station. An altercation ensued between the victim and an unidentified individual, resulting in the assailant slashing the victim’s face with an unknown object.

The perpetrator then fled onto another southbound 5 train. The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition by private means.
