Sugarloaf woman detained for public intoxication in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Police responded to a report of a disorderly individual on Kidder Street Friday morning and arrested a woman for public intoxication after determining she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Officers were dispatched to 815 Kidder Street around 8:30 a.m. for a complaint about a woman refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival, they identified the woman as 36-year-old Danielle Andrefski of Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania.

Police observed that Andrefski was visibly impaired and deemed her to be a danger to herself due to her condition.

She was taken into custody and transported to City Headquarters, where she was held until she regained sobriety.

Authorities have not released further information about the incident or whether additional charges will be filed.
